Transformation Prayer Ministry // "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2
What is TPM?
It is a form of counseling.
TPM stands for Transformation Prayer Ministry and it is a form of counseling which was given to a man named Ed Smith many years ago and he has been working along with the Holy Spirit in developing the training to make it more effective and also to train up all individuals to be able to do TPM on themselves, their family members and others who require healing.
It focuses on God's light on your issue, pain, lies, beliefs and hurts. TPM is a ministry of helping emotionally wounded people to acknowledge and to identify the true source of their inner emotional pain. TPM is so powerful as God speaks truth into the person directly in a way that transforms their belief and in turn their emotional state, healing them from past pains and traumas.
The five basic steps involved in TPM
1. Focusing on the emotion
2. The memory from which the emotion first occurs
3. The lie in the memory which causes the emotion
4. The belief of your self-identity (I am worthless)
5. Jesus's truth about the belief (To ME you ARE worthy! – i.e. sees Jesus on the cross in a vision. Each person experiences God’s truth in different ways.)
We all have a cognitive belief system – “I know my mother loves me” – but we also have an experiential belief system in place (often lies) – “It doesn’t feel like my mother loves me.” TPM helps the recipient find God’s truth about who they are in an experiential way – which then turns the lies into God’s truth – “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind”.
How does TPM help Operation Refugee?
TPM forms a very big part of our refugee project as we give TPM sessions to everyone we get in contact with so that they can heal from their extremely traumatic experiences and become fully functional in their ministries. We also intend to train up the new leaders to qualify as TPM facilitators so that they can also then continue in the growth of helping people find God’s truth and healing.
