October 2020 Newsletter

Dear Operation Refugee Supporter,
3 October 2020

We greet you in the Name of Jesus Christ,

It seems almost unreal that we are less than three months away from Christmas. The last six months have brought enough turmoil for a decade to ensure we stay grateful for our health and God’s provision in our lives, that we take all-to-easily for granted. As Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us, seasons come and go -and this one will be no different. Summer is finally approaching in Africa and the warm rays lift our spirits and we are incredibly excited to have downgraded to level 1 of the lockdown and now enjoy a lot more freedom to move around and see loved ones. Many people have left their homes to embark on a long-anticipated holiday and break from being “locked-in”. Although we keep praying for those who have been hit hard with the aftermath of the pandemic, continue to recover from Covid-19, and dealing with the loss of loved ones, we thank God for the millions who have recovered and are in good health. It’s no secret that it may very well take us a minute to regain our footing financially, emotionally, and mentally but we are grateful that the Lord’s promise of always being with us, will always stand. Matthew 28:20 …” And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We are thankful to Daniel Dugmore from YWAM Blantyre who has helped us with preparing a proposal for funding the Malawi YWAM Base. The Lord is faithful to His Word and we are eagerly waiting to continue with the building project that has already been started. The foundation phase is complete and refugees from the Dzaleka refugee camp have been actively involved in the construction work.
If you would like to be part of the building project and keen to sow into the Kingdom, please use “YWAMDzaleka” as a reference when donating.

Africa is experiencing a great need for Bibles and we started a campaign called “End Bible Poverty”. We are incredibly grateful to YWAM Wiler in Switzerland for their incredible generosity in donating funds for Bibles in Congo.
We were able to send funds to our contacts so that they could purchase French and Swahili Bibles and they have started distributing to the militias in the Eastern parts of the DRC (Congo). God is continuing to strengthen our faith as He works amongst His people, called the lost, home.

If you would like to form part of this movement and help us to end Bible poverty, please use “Bibles” as a reference when donating.

Thanks to Michelle, the previous marketer, and fundraiser for Operation Refugee, we were able to secure an interview on Life FM SA. Ivonn spoke to Michelle, who is hosts her show on Monday mornings and together they were able to spread the word of life in the refugee camps and how we are making a difference in these communities. If you would like to listen to this interview, please visit our Facebook and Instagram pages for the link or visit http://www.lifefm.co.za/on-demand-content/.

Our prophetic school kicked off on the 14th of September 2020, with many individuals from Malawi joining us. God is moving in an incredible way and we continue to trust the Holy Spirit to speak to us and give us further insight into the workings of the Holy Spirit and the prophetic realm. Thank you, Lord! Through sponsorship, we have been able to fund the study materials to be printed and distributed in Malawi, to those attending the course. Unfortunately, due to lack of technology, many are unable to attend our online teachings, but we trust the Lord to reveal Himself to these individuals in their lives.

Please use “PropheticSchool” as payment reference if you would like to donate to the school.

Our YouTube channel is slowly but surely growing, and we thank you for those who are supporting us by watching our videos.
